ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF E. RODRIGUEZ STREET FROM BARANGAY CONCEPCION UNO AND BARANGAY STO. NIÑO, MARIKINA CITY INTO ERAÑO G. MANALO AVENUE

WHEREAS, on August 31, 2009, Bro. Eraño G. Manalo, the Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo passed away;

WHEREAS, the late Bro. Eraño G. Manalo provided an exemplary religious leadership on Iglesia Ni Cristo by turning the latter into a concrete religious organization with influence around the world;

WHEREAS, the late Bro. Manalo was able to take part in developing Filipino culture through the massive doctrinal discipline formation of norms and behavior that transparently associated with the religion he profess;

WHEREAS, the late Bro. Manalo was an idespensable partner in community development, promoting human relations and strengthening the moral fiber of the society;

WHEREAS, the religious leadership of Bro. Manalo transcends over political and social boundaries around the world which makes him worthy to be lined up with great Filipino leaders and great Filipino achievers;

WHEREAS, the City Government of Marikina and its people are witnesses to the significant role of Bro. Manalo in leading its followers in living a disciplined life anchored on Christian values and teaching them universal love;

WHEREAS, the City Government of Marikina finds it most appropriate and a remarkable compensation to name an avenue in honor of Bro. Manalo;

WHEREAS, this ordinance will help avoid confusion to motorists and pedestrians because E. Rodriguez Street in Barangays Concepcion Uno and Sto. Niño likewise exist in Barangay Parang, Marikina City;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AS IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED, by the SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD of MARIKINA, in session duly assembled, that:

SECTION 1. The E. Rodriguez Street in Barangay Concepcion Uno and Barangay Sto. Niño is hereby renamed as Eraño G. Manalo Avenue.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon approval.

APPROVED by the SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD of MARIKINA, this 9^th day of December, 2009.
